Sharp’s Atlantic Ale
Keynvor

Year One: We turned the sounds of the Atlantic Ocean into a recording artist called Keynvor, signed with Universal Music. Every stream of its debut EP 'Preservation' earns royalties for ocean charity Surfers Against Sewage.
For the first time ever, the ocean could help fund its own preservation.

Making a star

Being a proactive idea, the budget was minimal. So to make it work, 4 of us drove up to Cornwall in our producer’s car and bunked at her friend’s beachside cabin. We were the runners, beach clean-up crew, kit carriers, and directors of the making of the film. Shoot food generously supplied by Cornish Pasty Co.

Whilst behind the scenes may have been grassroots, we made sure to launch Keynvor to the world like any new up-and-coming Universal Music artist.

Ocean Vinyl

Year two was the difficult second album idea. So we decided to do it on vinyl.  But not any old vinyl. Ocean Plastic from the Atlantic Coast was turned into a playable record, featuring an original song by Nick Mulvey. 22 vinyl pressers said no, as it had never been done before. It took a very chilled-out expert in California to say yes.

The records sold out in 2 hours, and the song continues to generate income for ocean conservation charity Surfers Against Sewage.

Jools Holland gave us some airtime too!
